This image of the title character is a contrast of innocence and violence. A seemingly sweet young girl dressed all in white. But the white seems spattered with blood and goes from red to black as it extends to the bottom edges of the frame. The "children can be such monsters" tagline reinforces the idea that this girl is not as she seems.

Alien: Romulus

Over the years the face-huggers have been one of the most frightening elements of the Alien franchise. And this design hones in on that fear with the horrifying image of someone fighting for their life as one of the huggers latches on to their face.

Late Night with the Devil

A man stands casually as if having an ordinary conversation, despite his head having turned to flames. A memorable design that seems to suggest that the main character has something burning inside of them.

Nosferatu

Vampire stories are almost always about sexuality, often using violence as a stand-in for sex. This design seems to capture both elements. If that was a normal looking hand it would be a sensual scene of a man caressing a woman. But the grotesque hand with its extended fingers and sharp fingernails turns this into something altogether different.

Seeing the creepy expression on this man would be disturbing enough but having his face stretched out with multiple strips of overlapping images makes it so much worse. It also invokes the feeling that he is watching us unseen from the other side of a set of blinds.
