2010 Internet Movie Poster Awards - Worst Tagline Nominees

Charlie St. Cloud
"Life is for Living"

Kind of stating the obvious there!
Ondine
"The truth is not what you know, it's what you believe."

I know the earth is round, but I believe it is flat. Guess it must be true then!
Predators
"They are the most dangerous killers on the planet. But this is not our planet..."

We know what they meant to say but they got the wording completely wrong, making the tag line meaningless.
Secretariat
"The impossible true story."

Sorry, but if it is a true story then it obviously could not have been impossible.
Yogi Bear
"Great things come in bears."

Surely this one requires no explanation...

and the winner is...

'Yogi Bear' has a terrible poster pun. I'd vote for 'Charlie St. Cloud' for its Plan 9-style stating the obvious.

Yogi Bear for me also, I hate these puns for these animated movies lately, they are just so incredibly bad. See also Gnomeo and Juliet for extreme badness.

The obvious one missing here is The Tourist. 'It all started when he met a woman'. If not the worst, certainly the most boring. We need another category maybe. ;-)

charlie st. cloud, utterly meaningless

Brycley01-19-2011 20:22 [E,W]
Yogi Bear, for the lose!

Blake01-20-2011 10:28 [E,W]
Yogi Bear for its incidental homosexual innuendo.

The whole point of the Secretariat line is the apparent self-contradiction of ''impossible'' and ''true story''. It suggests a paradox, which provokes curiosity. It's not easy to do that with such a few words. I think it's a great line and I'm disappointed to see it here. (And no, I didn't write it.)

Alberto 01-21-2011 12:54 [E,W]
Charlie St. Cloud for the awful and stupid tagline

sheva 701-21-2011 11:23 [E,W]
Charlie St. Cloud

Travis02-11-2011 12:49 [E,W]
Charlie St. Cloud. Made me feel dumber for reading it. Horrible.

cipiflesh01-19-2011 04:53 [E,W]
Yogi Bear

Geek01-19-2011 12:08 [E,W]
Bahahaha! These are all hilarious! I'm going with either Predators or Charlie St. Cloud for this one.

DSouza_Vasco01-19-2011 13:15 [E,W]
''Great things come in bears.''

Angel01-19-2011 16:47 [E,W]
''Predators.'' Terrifically redundant.

Alex01-22-2011 13:13 [E,W]
It has to be ''Charlie St. Cloud''. In fact it should also be the top nominee for Most Hilarious Tagline

T. Emery Lolsworth01-22-2011 13:21 [E,W]
Yogi Bear, for bestality.
